Drama Tour

Fridays are supposed to be my school days/planning-my-furlough-days, but as you’ve noticed I didn’t really have the chance to update my blog. The main reason for this is that on the last couple of Fridays we had several “Born Again to a Living Hope” drama presentations. Praise the Lord for that! Some of these days were long and tiring, but definitely worth it! It’s wonderful to see how God is using the life of Adriana and Pablo Riolo even 20 years after their death to reach the young people with the hope and good news of Jesus Christ! (For more information about the drama check our website: http://eletszava.org/en/born-again-drama.html)

Just this last Friday I had a great experience  once again. You need to know that I’m not an “actress-type” :), so after all these years playing the lead role of Adriana is still a challenge for me. But God is strong when we are weak, and He graciously enables me to remember the 21 minutes monologue and act a druggie. Many times when we start the performance the kids are laughing, talking, not realizing what a serious message we bring to them. To be honest, it makes me a little nervous that the noise will distract me, and I always pray before I stand up from the wheel chair that God would calm them down. This past Friday they were especially loud, and on the top of this I forgot to turn on my microphone! And God did it again! As I started to speak they suddenly became quiet and they paid close attention the whole time. To God be the glory! Please pray for these kids who heard the gospel.

We need your prayers for the “Born Again tour” next week!!! On Sunday afternoon we leave to DEBRECEN, the second largest city of Hungary to present the drama to hundreds of young people in the next three days. Pray for strength for our team and for many salvation decisions! Thank you!
Pictures coming soon! :)

Well, in the midst of a busy ministry schedule, the planning of my summer furlough to the States is still going on! :) I’m overwhelmed by the love and encouragement of my friends from overseas!!!  I’m so thankful for everybody’s help, as I’m planning the ministry opportunities, my housing, the rides from one place to another, and the many meetings for almost three months! Thank you for your prayers, and I can’t wait to see many of you this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God is My Source

Raising support is one of the greatest adventures in my life! I've come a long way and I don't see the end of this road, but I AM enjoying it. Oh, yes, there were hard times, especially at the beginning, when I asked the questions "Is it right to ask for support?" or "Why can't I just "pray it in" like the famous missionary George Mueller?"... Now I look at the list of my supporters and my heart is overwhelmed with thankfulness. Each one of them love our Father so much! I am absolutely convinced that they give to God - not to me or Word of Life - and that all that I have is directly from God. I can't imagine a better way for myself to learn how to depend on Him continually. He is my only source for my funding and He does answer prayers!

In Phil. 4:18 Paul called the Philippians' gift a "fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God." Both giving and receiving are vertical. The church's gift was a vertical gift to God, and Paul received it from God, not from fellow brothers and sisters. I'm very thankful for every person who is involved in our ministry, but please pray that I would always remember that God is the source!

God is at Work!

I was so encouraged by my Quiet Time this morning! Psalm 52:8-9 says, "But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly." What a testimony of TRUST in God's love and faithfulness!

Not long ago I read something interesting as I was preparing for my Biblical Counseling course. A.W. Tozer says, "Notice that when God did His most awful, majestic works, He always did them in the darkness." Isn't that an amazing thought? Just think about the creation, the Incarnation, Jesus' death or resurrection! Tozer concludes that every great thing that God has done, He has done in the silence and the darkness, because His wisdom is such that no man could understand it anyhow.

It is not easy to trust God when we don't see what He is doing. But we can know one thing for sure, He is at work! Just like David, I want to trust in His steadfast love and praise Him, even for His "hidden work"!

Where on the Map is Piseco, NY? :-)

It's been a month since I started writing this blog. You might wonder how things are going with planning my trip to the States... Well, slowly, but I'm getting there. It's so encouraging to know that God is in control and I can trust Him with every single detail!!!

Do you remember the story when king Hezekiah receives a letter from Sennacherib, he goes to the temple and spreads it on front of the Lord? (2 Kings 19) This is how I felt this afternoon. I took the maps of some of the states of the USA, spread them on the floor of our living room and started to look for all the places where my friends live... I love maps and I love geography, but I have to admit, I had difficulties with finding some of these places. I wonder how this will go in real life! :) As I was praying and trying to come up with a schedule for my furlough it was so good to remember that the Lord already knows where I am going, the people I will meet, because He planned it out a long time ago!!! The eternal God has already lived all of my tomorrows! Isn't that wonderful?!

Thank you for your prayers for wisdom and guidance!

"Born Again to a Living Hope" Drama Ministry

It's early Friday morning and soon we are leaving with our "Born Again" team to bring the good news to the Eastern part of Hungary. This drama is a powerfool tool to reach the young people who desperately need the HOPE of Jesus Christ. You can read more about the drama here: http://eletszava.org/en/born-again-drama.html

Please pray for...

- safety on the roads
- the performance - our team has 18 members
- my monologue as I'm sharing about Adriana's life
- good conversations after the presentation
- SALVATION DECISIONS
- the visit at my roommates' parents on our way back, they are not believers

Thank you! Have a blessed day!

Friday = Furlough

Fridays are special days of my week. Since November Fridays have been my "school days", a time set aside to study and do homework. In the last couple of weeks I also used these days to plan my trip to the States and post some thoughts on this blog. :)

I will be honest with you: I've never done anything similar before and planning a furlough is a tough job for me. I was also a little discouraged because of my support level this past week. Well, this is when the practical nature of studying God's attributes comes in! I've been reading about the omnipotence of God for my Biblical Counseling course and I realized that sometimes I am living as if God were not omnipotent. :-(

A.W. Tozer defines omnipotence as "able to do all and to have all power". There is nothing too hard for God! He is able to do anything - anything at all! So why do we worry that the Almighty God of the universe might not be able to handle our problems? Tozer (in his book "The Attributes of God") uses a funny illustration of a fly perched on a seat in an airplane, worrying about whether the plane will be able to carry its weight... :-)) Oh, I don't want to act like that! It's been so encouraging to think about the fact that there is no limit to God's power and I can fully rely on Him. "Hard" isn't even in His vocabulary! I serve an almighty God and I can trust Him for great things. I'm so excited about what He is going to do this summer!!!

Dear Friend, I want to encourage you to start praying LARGE prayers. Maybe your challenge is not getting to 100% support, but whatever it might be - health, relationships, finances, fear, battle with sin - I dare you to believe that with God nothing is impossible! Don't hesitate to ask for the Lord's help, just put your hands in your Daddy's hands, and have faith that He'll take care of everything! Let me know if I can pray for you, I'd love to bring your requests to the throne room of the Almighty God.
